Christopher M. Upton

Director – General Practice
Christy is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland. He has spent his career in general practice and together with Kevin Ryan, who is now a Consultant with us, founded Upton Ryan in 1978. Christy heads up our Busy Tax Practice with vast experience of planning and compliance in every aspect of personal and corporate taxation. Our clients range from Individuals, Sole Traders, Professionals, & SMEs through to High Net Worth Individuals, Trusts and a multitude of Specialist Entities, Forestry Funds etc.
Paul Warren
BSc. Accounting & Finance, FCA
Director – General Practice
Paul is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and his youthful appearance belies 20+ years’ General Practice Experience working mainly in the areas of Audit, Tax and Assurance. Paul leads our Audit & Assurance department and his expertise covers most industry sectors including Manufacturing, Distribution, Solicitors, Professional & General Services. Within the firm, Paul deals with Customs & Duty and is a specialist in the Film Finance Regime.
John Eddison
FCA, CTA, MBA
Director – General Practice
John joined Upton Ryan in the late eighties from a sojourn in Industry after working in a ‘Big Four’ environment. He works in all aspects of Public Practice and formerly lead our Audit & Compliance Department. He is an experienced Corporate Finance Practitioner in areas ranging from Litigation and Dispute Resolution through to Corporate Restructuring, Mergers, Acquisitions, Disposals and the full complement of Insolvency and Rescue roles.
Qasim Hayat

Head of Audit & Assurance
Qasim Heads our Audit Department specialising in external audit and other assurance services. ‘Big Four’ trained, he has many years’ experience providing audit and business advisory services to SMEs, large indigenous companies and subsidiaries of multinationals. His non-audit work includes internal audit and Sarbanes Oxley assignments. He also has significant experience in the review of accounting and risk systems and in providing other assurance services.
Qasim’s sectoral expertise includes Retail, Not-for–Profit, Hospitality, Professional Services, Building & Manufacturing, Technology, Leisure and Distribution.
Iarlaith O’Donnell

Associate – Audit & Assurance
Iarlaith is an Associate of Chartered Accountants Ireland and is another Upton Ryan Veteran. Our GAA star, Iarlaith delivers compliance and taxation advisory services to a wide portfolio of SME clients in the construction, manufacturing, hospitality, IT and service industries. Within the Firm, Iarlaith is a specialist in Financial Services and the Not for Profit Sector having looked after, amongst others, the Statutory obligations of a very well known Nationwide Charity in recent years.
Caroline Creedon
Payroll & Administration
In her role as Administrator, Caroline ensures that administrative support outside of the Firm’s professional services is provided as necessary to clients. Caroline also manages our Payroll Bureau Service. She is an invaluable source of experience with the myriad of issues that can arise from time to time on individual employee’s pay & conditions. Finally, as the first point of contact with the Firm, Caroline ensures that communication is always available, and no messages or contacts are overlooked by our team.
The Professional Support Team
Our Leadership Team are supported by an enthusiastic and highly skilled team of Professional Support Staff on all assignments be it on regular or repeat work, provision of Management Information & Accounts, bookkeeping services or one off assignments.
Our Professional Support Staff develop a close relationship with all the clients they work with and are always available to go that extra mile whenever required
